Stories from real setups we've done
First Computer at 72
A grandmother received a laptop as a gift but had never used a computer. Over two visits, we set up email, taught her to video call her grandchildren on Zoom, showed her how to browse recipes and watch YouTube, and set up her phone to sync photos. She now emails and video calls independently every week.
PC to Mac Transition
A professional switching from a 10-year-old Windows PC to a new MacBook was worried about losing years of documents. We transferred all files, set up her familiar apps (Word, Excel, Chrome), migrated her email, and spent an hour walking through the differences between Windows and Mac. She was productive the next morning.
iPad Setup for a Retiree
A retired teacher wanted an iPad for reading, email, and keeping up with family on Facebook. We set up his Apple ID, configured email, installed his reading apps, connected to his home Wi-Fi, and showed him how to FaceTime. We also increased the text size and set up Do Not Disturb for nighttime.
Smart Home Entertainment Overhaul
A family had a new smart TV, a Roku stick, and a soundbar — all still in boxes. We mounted nothing but connected everything: TV to Wi-Fi, Roku configured with their Netflix/Hulu/Disney+ accounts, soundbar paired via HDMI ARC, and universal remote programmed. One remote now controls everything.
